The IT landscape of modern companies is characterised by constant diversity and dynamism. The multitude of hardware and software products in use, daily version updates, the expiry of product versions and the continuous publication of new vulnerabilities (CVEs) make it almost impossible to keep track of everything manually. Effective risk management therefore requires an automated and holistic solution.
This is where Versio.io comes in: our platform enables automated monitoring of the entire IT infrastructure. Through a thorough inventory of all products used and their versions in the corporate cosmos, this is compared with our background knowledge database. This database contains comprehensive lifecycle information on over 1,000 hardware and software products as well as the associated, publicly known vulnerabilities.

The comprehensive status overview with the Lifecycle & Vulnerability Dashboard

The Lifecycle & Vulnerability Dashboard is the central interface for visualising this complex data set. It provides a comprehensive overview of the IT landscape and allows you to see the status of installed software and hardware and the associated security risks at a glance. This dashboard serves as a basis for making informed decisions and responding proactively to potential threats. However, in highly dynamic environments, the sheer volume of information can make daily work difficult.

For this reason, we have expanded the functionality of Versio.io with the new Assessment Changes Dashboard to focus even more specifically on the task at hand.

Focus on changes with the Assessment Changes Dashboard

In an environment characterised by constant updates and new threats, every minute counts. This is exactly where our latest feature comes in: the Assessment Changes Dashboard. It was developed to make working with the release and lifecycle data of your IT infrastructure significantly more effective and to improve clarity.

The primary goal of this dashboard is to focus on the most recent changes. Instead of working your way through the entire status of the IT landscape, you can now concentrate specifically on the changes that have occurred since the previous day or within a specific period. This enables a timely response and a significantly optimised workflow.

In detail, the dashboard looks at all relevant deltas: it analyses the lifecycle and vulnerability status, records the affected instances and shows the associated vulnerabilities (CVEs) and their risk assessment.

This means that the dashboard shows you at a glance:

This focused view enables you, as the person responsible, to identify and process changes on a daily basis, ensuring that your IT infrastructure remains up to date without overwhelming you with data.

  • New software installations or uninstallations.
  • Version changes to existing software.
  • New or fixed vulnerabilities (CVEs) and their risk score.
  • Changes to the lifecycle status of products.

The decisive added value for your risk management

The combination of the existing Lifecycle & Vulnerability Dashboard with the new Assessment Changes Dashboard creates a powerful synergy. While one provides a strategic overview, the other serves as your tactical tool for day-to-day work. It transforms the flood of data into actionable insights, enabling you and your team to respond immediately to changes.

This focused approach enables more efficient risk management: you see new risks immediately and can act more proactively. Your team saves valuable time because it can concentrate on the most relevant changes.

This allows you to maintain an overview of version data, lifecycle status and security risks at all times, even in the most complex IT landscape, without being overwhelmed by the flood of data.

In this blog post, we present two methods for determining the software versions on server and desktop hosts. These are crucial for cybersecurity assessment, especially when analysing the product lifecycle and identifying vulnerabilities.
