The Document Storage offered by the Versio.io platform bridges the gap between digitised assets and configuration items and the related documents or files. Until now, you had complete transparency regarding the technical status of your IT infrastructure. Now you also have direct access to all relevant commercial, legal and organisational information, exactly where you need it.

How does Document Storage work

When developing Document Storage, we focused on three goals to ensure maximum transparency, data sovereignty, and user-friendliness:

Maximum transparency - Documents are available directly at the asset and configuration item where you need and search for them.
Data sovereignty - Documents and files are stored in your own S3 object storage, which is connected to the Versio.io platform. This means that your data remains physically in your own cloud infrastructure and you have full control over it.
Usability - You can add (upload) or view (download) documents and files for each asset and configuration item in the Instance Viewer.

Application scenarios for Document Storage

Until now, IT asset management has often been divided into two different areas: technical data in the CMDB and documents such as contracts and invoices on external network drives. By directly linking documents and instances, we are now bringing these two worlds together. Time-consuming searches in external folder structures are no longer necessary.
