What is MonitorControl?

Automate product release and end-of-life managementMonitorControl is an open-source macOS utility that allows users to seamlessly control the brightness, volume, and contrast of their external displays. It enables the use of standard Apple keyboard keys and custom shortcuts, displaying the native macOS On-Screen Displays for a uniform user experience. The application functions by employing various protocols, primarily DDC (Display Data Channel) for direct hardware control, and also uses software dimming alternatives for less compatible displays. While MonitorControl is a community-driven project, the current maintainer is @waydabber, who is also the developer of the related display utility, BetterDisplay.
