AOS product description

Acropolis Operating System (AOS) is an operating system for the Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure platform. AOS contains data services for data protection, space efficiency, scalability, automated data tiering and security. AOS comes with a built-in hypervisor called Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV).

AOS release strategy

In the Enterprise Cloud software market, to cater to different customer environment needs, there are two types of releases: * Short Term Support (STS) releases, which have new features, and also provide a regular upgrade path (3 to 6 months) OR * Long Term Support (LTS) releases, which are maintained for a longer duration (12 to 15 months) and provide primarily bug fixes for an extended period of time on a particular release family.
